Liposuction refers to the fat sucked from strategic points, which alone forms and remodels. But there are cases where there is a poorly defined body or depressions, mainly in the gluteal region. The role of liposculpture is to fill these areas, providing a new contour.
Indications:
Removal of localized fat and filling in areas with poor corporal definition.
Procedure:
Small incisions in strategic locations are made and a cannula will remove excess fat. Later, this same “fat” will be cleaned and will be grafted through a syringe in locations where there are depressions.
It is important to keep in mind that some of the grafted fat will be reabsorbed by the body. One who seeks a proportional increase of the buttocks, needs an evaluation, and if necessary, a prostheses implant in the region will be indicated.
Scars:
minimal, less than 1cm.
Type of anesthesia:
Epidural or general
Duration:
2 to 3 hours depending on the volume and regions aspirated.
Hospitalization time:
12 to 24 hours.
